Thomas Nicholas Vurley - Shoeing, Jobbing & General Blacksmith. Thomas, his wife, Martha and their three sons, have moved their home and business here from the other side of the Green.

Thomas Nicholas Vurley and his family have now moved out of No 6 (C1891) and Thomas dies a year later leaving Martha £87-10-11d.
It is not clear where the family moved to from Bartholomew Green but, by 1901 Martha (age 74) will be living at No 14 Church Green (now called 14 Cumberland Road) with her widowed daughter, Martha Baggott, her grandaughter, Bertha, and her son Edward who will carry on the family blacksmith business..

Charles Blowers - Blacksmith, Farrier (C1891, K1896). Charles is an older brother of William Blowers who runs the Blacksmith shop at No 42 High Street, round the corner. Charles is married to Mary Ann and they have three sons, Ernest, John and Charlie.Charles younger brother, Joseph, a master mariner, lives next door at No 7.
